About Freemasonry
Freemasonry, one of the oldest and most widely recognized fraternal organizations in the world has a worldwide membership over 3.6 million members and 1.6 million members in North America alone.
Freemasonry unites men of good character through a brotherhood that embraces different religious, ethnic, and social backgrounds that share a common belief in the fatherhood of God and the brotherhood of mankind.
Freemasonry was founded upon the building of King Solomon’s Temple. The brotherhood's ceremonies use the working tools of the stonemasons to symbolize moral lessons and truths. Masons are reminded at Lodge to “meet upon the level of equality, to act by the plumb of uprightness, and to part upon the square of virtue.”
Members will only get out of Freemasonry what he is able to put into it. That being said, membership in Freemasonry is not designed to overtake important family commitments, but rather enhance an individual’s commitment to his faith, family, and occupation. It is a positive environment that reminds every member of his duty to God, his community, his family and himself.
Many Freemasons value the sincere, honest, and forthright men they meet – men who believe in God and desire to contribute to their communities. Through our Masonic Fraternalism, we recommit our dedication and unity to become involved citizens who have a strong desire to preserve American values.
